This week, we completed an integrated security system for a large office complex in Bournemouth that combines sophisticated access control with an intruder alarm system. With offices spread over three floors and more than 200 employees, the company needed a security system that would protect its valuable property and assets but also its people, by ensuring its operations and premises are Covid-safe once lockdown ends.
Networked Access Control means the system can be quickly and easily programmed to set any restrictions/permissions the client chooses. For example, they can control which people can access which areas at what times (this is especially useful if a company has multiple external contractors, such as cleaners). Staff can gain access using proximity tags (pictured below) and rules can easily be applied or changed to either individuals or groups. The individually-assigned tags also mean employees don’t have to worry about remembering codes, or codes being passed to unauthorised people.
By having complete control over which areas are accessed, by whom and when also means that the client can funnel movement or limit numbers to ensure adherence with Covid guidelines. The client can also download comprehensive reports at any time, detailing access times, movement and more.
By being able to quickly programme the system on-site via PC, the system can quickly adapt with the business – for example they can instantly add new tags for newly hired employees, or change access times if the business or individuals’ work hours change.
As an SSAIB-approved installer, we were also able to install a police response intruder alarm system to ensure complete protection 24/7. The alarm system can be remotely armed or disarmed with full visibility of who engaged with the alarm and when.
